What are you Reflecting?
As I walked into the bathroom in the middle of the night, I noticed a beautiful cylinder shaped glow reflecting from the night light onto the ceiling. I immediately began to think about what my life is reflecting. If you see your reflection in a mirror, you are seeing the image that you are gazing upon reflected back to you which in this case is you. In a spiritual sense, whatever we are focused on the most will be reflected from our lives. It’s what others see when they gaze at us. That's why we as Christians need to be careful of what we watch, read, or listen to. It all becomes a part of our character and though others may not see what you are doing, the reflection will eventually become obvious.
As we set our eyes on Jesus and our desire on seeking Him above all else, His love, character and nature will become a part of our identity and others will begin to see Him reflected through us. We are made in the image of God but unfortunately life, sin, experiences, and circumstances have tainted that image. As we begin to cleanse our minds with the pure Word of God, it begins to change our nature and restore us to the original image we were intended to reflect.
We are His ambassadors on this earth, let's represent Him in a way He deserves as we reflect His love and nature to the world around us. That will only happen to the extent that we were willing to crucify our flesh, study His Word, seek His face, and allow His spirit to transform us back to His image.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV) But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Genesis 1:27 (KJV) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Romans 12:2 (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
