True Freedom!

Romans 13:7 (KJV) Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Today is a day of reflecting on how blessed we are to live in a free country. A day when we honor those who have served in the military, fought in defense of the United States, and also helped in the fight against evil dictators and tyranny in foreign lands. The American military has brought hope and saved the lives of so many. In many cases they have sacrificed their own lives for the cause of freedom. As I ponder this, I have such appreciation for all our veterans and what they've done for this amazing country!

My mind then turns to Christ and the price He paid to give us freedom from our sins and the clutches of an evil tyrant called Satan. What a sacrifice made for us...the death of the Son of God in exchange for our depravity! So undeserved yet His love transcends all our weaknesses and limitations... it's too wonderful to express with human vocabulary!

It amazes me that He would think of us, create us, then desire to bring us into His family....Tears flow as I think of it. He didn't just bring us into this world, then leave us helpless. He pursues, equips, and desires fellowship with His children.

By the blood of Jesus freedom reigns! Many who "are doing their own thing" think they are liberated, never realizing they are a slave to the enemy of their soul, as he leads them deeper down a path of misery and destruction. If you have received Christ as your Savior, don't take your freedom for granted and don't allow the shackles of sin to enslave you again. The trap of the enemy is set, but as you stay close to Christ, He will guard your steps!

If you've never given your heart and life to Christ, this your chance! True Freedom is closer than you realize! Repent of your sins, ask Jesus to come into your heart and receive Him as your Lord and Savior. He's waiting with arms wide open! (If you make this commitment today, please reach out to Steven Smith or myself, we'd be happy to answer your questions and point you in the right direction.)

So, on this Veterans Day, thank and give honor to those who have and are serving in the military and appreciate the sacrifice of those who gave their lives to make this country what it is today! But don’t forget the one who sacrificed all for the greatest freedom you could ever experience! It’s the liberation of your soul, the freedom of the clutches of sin and the opportunity to have a relationship with King of kings and the Lord of lords! He’s an amazing Savior!! Surrender all to Him and experience His true FREEDOM that was purchased by His shed blood and His sacrificial love for you!

John 8:31-36 (TPT) Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “When you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. For if you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives.” Surprised by this, they said, “But we’re the descendants of Abraham and we’re already free. We’ve never been in bondage to anyone. How could you say that we will be released into more freedom?” “I speak eternal truth,” Jesus said. “When you sin you are not free. You’ve become a slave in bondage to your sin. And slaves have no permanent standing in a family, like a son does, for a son is a part of the family forever. So if the Son sets you free from sin, then become a true son and be unquestionably free!

Galatians 5:1 (TPT) At last we have freedom, for Christ has set us free! We must always cherish this truth and firmly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.

2 Corinthians 3:17 (NLT) For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
