The Torn Veil
I want to make something clear. My relationship with Christ and my desire to please Him is not performance based. I don’t feel that I need to jump through hoops to win His love or approval. I believe that I am saved fully and totally by His mercy and grace. I could never be “good” enough to merit His love or Salvation and certainly never deserving of the death of His Son.
That being said, I also believe there is more to the Salvation experience than simply praying a prayer. Yes, we accept the price that Jesus paid for us on the cross, come to Him with repentance and ask Him to come into our hearts as our Lord and Savior. He then receives us into His family with open arms. Once you’ve experienced His amazing love and the freedom that comes from the weight of your sins being removed, you should desire more. If you get married but you never speak to your spouse, build a relationship, or even move in with them, you may be married but you have never experienced the wonderful benefits that can come from that relationship.
After 41 years of marriage, I'm still madly and passionately in love with my husband and I absolutely enjoy my time with him! There’s nothing we wouldn’t do for each other, and it pleases us to please the other. That’s love! So, when I talk about seeking Jesus, reading His Word, praising, worshipping, and serving Him, I’m not saying you have to do these things for Him to love or accept you. What I am saying is that you will not get close enough to realize that love, hear His whispers and experience a fulfilling life filled with peace, joy and power unless you develop that relationship and draw close to Him. As you do, His love will flow in and through you to the world around you. Then your greatest desire will be pleasing Him and doing whatever He asks you to do! As you remain close to His heart, He will reveal His will plans for your life and equip you to fulfill your destiny.
One of the greatest benefits of the Salvation experience is the torn veil... the privilege of having access into the Holy of Holies, feeling His presence, and hearing His voice! Why wouldn’t you desire to be with the one you love and the one who IS LOVE!?
Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV) And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
John 15:5 (NKJV) “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
1 John 4:16 (KJV) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV) For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Matthew 27:50-51 (KJV) Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent.
