The Power of His Word

Luke 1:45 (NLT) You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said.

This scripture is resonating in my heart today. Let’s consider some scriptures concerning faith for a moment.

Hebrews 11:6 (TPT) And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who passionately seek him.

Matthew 9:29 (TPT) Then Jesus put his hands over their eyes and said,“You will have what your faith expects!”

Oh God’s Word! It stirs such passion and faith! Don’t go a single day without reading it, anymore than you would go a day without food. You won’t die after a day, but you’ll gradually get weaker and weaker until you eventually starve to death.

God uses His Word to reveal His love and heart as well as to teach, direct, correct and encourage us.

This morning as I began to study, Luke 1:45 was the first scripture I came to. I wasn’t even thinking about faith, but the truth is, God new exactly what I needed. I’ve been on a hiatus for the past few months. I was led to leave my job and just seek Jesus. It’s been glorious and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, but as my personal bank account is dwindling, I know this season may soon end. Though I’m not stressing over the future, the thought does cross my mind quite a bit. You see, it’s not the money I’m concerned about as much as staying in tune with God every step of the way and remaining sensitive to the Holy Spirit. I don’t want to miss what He’s saying or where He’s leading….

Though I’m not completely sure of the depth of the impact these scriptures have made upon my soul, I do know God is equipping me afresh for what’s ahead. The Bible states: Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God…

It’s His Word that stirs up faith and fire in our souls! It gives us the fight to persevere and the faith to trust that God is in control and He always fulfills His promises!!!

As I sit here in my favorite place to seek Him, enjoying the beauty of His creation, His Word and presence fills me with exactly what I need in every season, day, hour and moment! It charges me up and removes all fear, doubt and stress!

Set time aside and open His Word, He wants to feed you the Spiritual nutrition you need to not only endure, but conquer what currently has your attention!

PS, I love how God works! When I started writing this devotion, I thought it was going to be on faith! I even titled it that! He then took me on the path to encouraging you to read His Word! Don’t miss out on this incredible part of your relationship with Christ. Christianity isn’t a one sided relationship. He desires to speak to you through His Word, just as much as He desires to hear from you!
