The New Covenant
Hebrews 10:16-18 (NLT) “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.” And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.
There is no need for more sacrifices! The work on the cross was enough! Have you ever felt like your sins are just much greater than the price that was paid? Do you ever feel as though you must continue to offer sacrifices to God to earn His love and forgiveness? The amazing thing about God is His love for you could never be any greater than it is right now. Even if you choose to never serve or follow Him, His love remains. We cannot complete a long list of great deeds to "earn" more love from Him; it's great to do and as Christians we should have the desire to help others and do acts of charity because it is far better to give than to receive.
When we give our entire lives to Christ - the list of things we receive is really unending. As you continue to live for Jesus, you will experience so much joy even in the simplest things that you will often wonder "how on earth did I live my life before this?" Dear ones, there is no amount of money, acts of good deeds, or sacrificed animals that will cause God to adore you and cherish you any more than He already does. Obedience is far better than sacrifice. If you really want to live your life to the fullest and step into that abundance of peace, then follow His commands as they are created with your best interest in mind. He knows what will make us hurt and tear us apart, He knows the plans of the enemy and warns us on how to avoid the path of destruction. God's holy law is for our benefit! There is a new covenant written on our hearts and minds and Jesus is at the center of it all! Press forward with a greater determination than ever before. Pray fervently with great expectancy in regards to your future and all God has for you.
1 Samuel 15:22 (TLB) Samuel replied, “Has the Lord as much pleasure in your burnt offerings and sacrifices as in your obedience? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. He is much more interested in your listening to him than in your offering the fat of rams to him."
Psalm 136:26 (NLT) Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever.
