The Juggling Act
Deuteronomy 10:8 (NKJV) At that time the Lord separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister to Him and to bless in His name, to this day.
Minister: Hebrew- Sharath; to wait on, to attend to, to serve or to be a worshipper.
As we've become busier serving the Lord, I realize my desperation for keeping the first thing first. My desire to serve and do God's will directly flows from my time in His Word and presence. That's where I become saturated by His glory and desire to share it with others. The hard part is, the more we do for the Lord, the less time there is to minister to Him. To bless Him should always be our hearts desire...
Working for God is necessary, we must share the Gospel and reveal His love. We all have a specific calling that must be fulfilled and nothing, but total surrender is enough. But without relationship we have nothing to give to man or God. It's easy to quickly become depleted of our reserve if we are not daily feeding our soul and building this amazing relationship with the Lover of our Souls. Oh, how our worship blesses Him!
I'll be honest with you, I'm tired. Between work, travel, ministry, the battles, and life in general we can get worn out and burn out soon follows. But in His presence...only in His presence... there's refreshing rest, strength, joy, peace, power, revelation and divine strategies. It's all there and as it's intermixed with His Word it brings guidance and wisdom. Don't try to fight the battles or give from an empty well. Allow the Holy Spirit to refresh and breathe new life into you. Everything you need can be found in the Word of God and His loving arms.
Minister to God? They say you can't out give Him. It's true, the more we give of our time and honor Him with our worship and praise the more His love is realized. Even now as I write...I keep taking breaks just to worship Him... I'm overwhelmed by the warmth of His presence. He's so beautiful, kind, wonderful and amazing!!! This must be first... everything else flows from here!
Acts 13:2 (NKJV) As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
Psalms 16:11 (TPT) Because of you, I know the path of life, as I taste the fullness of joy in your presence. At your right side I experience divine pleasures forevermore!
Psalms 63:1-8 (TPT) O God of my life, I’m lovesick for you in this weary wilderness. I thirst with the deepest longings to love you more, with cravings in my heart that can’t be described. Such yearning grips my soul for you, my God! I’m energized every time I enter your heavenly sanctuary to seek more of your power and drink in more of your glory. For your tender mercies mean more to me than life itself. How I love and praise you, God! Daily I will worship you passionately and with all my heart. My arms will wave to you like banners of praise. I overflow with praise when I come before you, for the anointing of your presence satisfies me like nothing else. You are such a rich banquet of pleasure to my soul. I lie awake each night thinking of you and reflecting on how you help me like a father. I sing through the night under your splendor-shadow, offering up to you my songs of delight and joy! With passion I pursue and cling to you. Because I feel your grip on my life, I keep my soul close to your heart.
