Pruned in Glory
As you all know, my church and many others around the country are experiencing an amazing outpouring of God's Spirit. It's been an incredible encounter with the glory of God.
I've experienced many revivals in my lifetime, each are unique and even in this season, each location has its own flavor. There are so many different aspects to the character of our God, and it pours out His love in ways that are needed in each region. For us it's been deliverances, spiritual and water baptisms, commitments, prophetic utterances, transformations, joy, salvation, repentance, healing and simply...but incredibly... just soaking in His presence.
Though there are many similarities there's one characteristic that's always present and some find surprising and somewhat painful... with each encounter with His Glory, more is required. More flesh is stripped away, revealing areas that require change. Things that we've grown accustomed to and were once acceptable cannot be carried to the next level. Excess baggage must be eliminated. The entry is narrow, and it's accessed through holiness and purity. In revival you don't have to search your heart... the areas that need to be crucified are illuminated by His glory... He digs deep if necessary... into the caverns of our souls. Even into the places once locked away and forgotten... there's no stone unturned... freedom at all cost!
Yes, the crucifixion of the flesh is painful, but the eternal freedom is glorious! Don't run from the pruning process, it will set you free! From glory to glory, you will be transformed into His image, and He will take you deeper into the Secret Place of His amazing presence and the purpose He's designed specifically for YOU!
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV) But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Galatians 5:24 (KJV) And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
John 15:2 (NKJV) Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
Galatians 5:1 (KJV) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
