Identity

Deuteronomy 32:4 (NLT) He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!

Aren't you thankful that our identity is not in our mistakes nor our past? We can easily forget that we are children of The Creator - the One who made the earth, the air we breathe, who has always been - when we are listening to all the noise and the voice of the enemy. Our identity is not in what has been stolen from us, what has been done to us, or what we have failed at. It can be difficult to accept the sacrifice that Jesus made for us because we feel so unworthy of his love. Having lived a lifestyle that never reflected the ways of Jesus, then accepting Him into my life, my mind struggled to understand that I was truly forgiven. Reading scriptures that call me holy and blameless after living a life of sin and mistakes, it was difficult to believe that they were written for me.

We must not believe the lies of the enemy over the Truth of God's Word. In Christ - we are blameless. It has nothing to do with us but everything to do with Him. Because He is our Rock and was blameless and poured out His innocent blood for us we are made righteous through Him. Our identity is in Him.

His sacrifice is not a license for us to sin but a forgiveness of sins. We are free from the bondage of sin! We should strive to do more for Jesus because He gave His all for us. Following Jesus is a lifestyle and our lives should reflect who He is and as we grow in our relationship with Him we desire more to be His hands and feet and to do what would please Him. We don't have to suffer the consequence of death because death has been defeated! Receive all God has for you and walk out your calling - be bold and courageous as you step into the unknown knowing that He has something greater for you ahead.

Colossians 1:22 (NLT) Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.
