He is Worth the Wait

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV) Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

With our fast paced, fast food and microwave society, we can tend to expect God to operate on the same time table. Time with Him cannot be rushed. You must realize what a glorious opportunity we have in coming into His presence. Wow! Think about it, this isn't just a famous person that desires to spend time with us, but it's the Creator of the Universe and the One who thought of and created you!

As you approach Him, you may have a million other things on your mind. Part of prayer and worship is discipline, so every time you come before Him it may not necessarily be out of desire, but obedience. That's okay, but as you draw closer, your attention must turn from all of the activities of your day and the things that still need to be done and placed upon Jesus.

There's a refreshing that comes from just falling into His arms and resting in His presence. It may take time to feel the connection, but as you remain there, worshipping as you're waiting, He'll show up and reveal the warmth of His acceptance, mercy and love. It's not instant gratification we are looking for, but a deeply intimate and passionate life changing relationship that’s cultivated in our time spent with Him.

The strength and fulfillment you need is found as you take the time to not only share your heart with Him, but it's in the worship and the waiting. Come into His presence expecting to find Him. You’re not wasting your time and breath, speaking aimlessly into the air, but you have a divine appointment with the King of kings and Lord of lords and He's waiting for you there.

I don't know about you, but I'm desperate for Him, I need Him more than my next breath and I must stay close enough to hear His voice and feel His touch! It transforms my life and gives me the peace and strength to handle anything this life throws at me. Put everything else aside, schedule time just for Him, turn off your favorite show, go into a private place and give Him your complete love and attention. There's nothing like intimate time with Jesus and it's definitely worth the wait!

Lamentations 3:25 (ESV) The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.

Isaiah 30:18 (NLT) So the Lord must wait for you to come to Him so He can show you His love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.

Isaiah 40:29-31 (NKJV) He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Psalm 37:5-7 (TPT) Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly! He will appear as your righteousness, as sure as the dawning of a new day. He will manifest as your justice, as sure and strong as the noonday sun. Quiet your heart in his presence and wait patiently for Yahweh…
