Happy Thanksgiving!
1 Chronicles 16:34 (KJV) O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
What are you thankful for today? No matter the trial you may be facing, there's always so many reasons to worship God!
First and foremost, you were created! Imagine the odds against your unique DNA ever being formed. You weren't an accident... you were designed with purpose and brought forth by the love of God!! Yes! That's a wonderful and incredible miracle, but what if it stopped there? What if life was all you were given? Our existence without Salvation is hopeless and unfulfilling. God didn't stop with creation, He gave the greatest sacrifice that could ever be given... the life of His own Son, the willing participant in our Redemption. Such an unfair trade, yet this price was deemed worthy of the prize. The prize is YOU!
Nothing to be thankful for today? How about freedom from the penalty of sin, sanctification, healing, deliverance, purpose, eternal life, and my personal favorite... the opportunity to have an intimate and personal relationship with the King of kings and Lord of lords! And don't forget His Word! The heart of God poured on legible pages, that's priceless. We don't serve a mysterious God, but one who desires that His children KNOW Him!
I could spend hours writing about that relationship. Step into my prayer room, it's like crossing over a portal to His Glory! Those who enter hungry feel His presence immediately, but His Glory isn't just contained in a room. We carry it with us wherever we go. Us! Humans! We have the privilege of abiding in His presence and no child of God is exempt! It's too wonderful for words, too magnificent to even comprehend... yet here in His presence there's no pain, no heart ache, no struggles, or anxiety. When your gaze is upon Jesus you're blinded and unaffected by the acts of the enemy... I'm not saying the attacks are no longer there, but they no longer have your focus and attention. I'm so thankful for the Secret Place and being hidden in Christ!
Do you see a pattern to my appreciation? The physical blessings are secondary to the spiritual. Ill John 2:1 says Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Our prosperity begins with the condition of our soul!
Yes! This Thanksgiving I have so much to be thankful for, both physical and especially spiritually! We are not forgotten, never alone and deeply, deeply loved!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Psalm 91:1 (KJV) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 27:4-6 (NKJV) One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle, He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore, I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
Psalm 95:2 (KJV) Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
