Fresh Fire
Luke 3:16-17 (NLT) John answered their questions by saying, “I baptize you with water; but someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into his barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire.”
The fire of God is a never-ending flame. Once you have that fresh fire, you must continue to feed the fire. His fire is always there but the fire in you must stay connected to His fire. The scriptures will fuel your fire, the presence of God will fuel your fire, connecting with Jesus will fuel the fire. How is your fire doing today? Have you added any logs lately? Do you need a good dose of kerosene? Don't go to bed without lighting it up!
Let your fire completely consume everything that is weighing you down. Let it burn up everything that doesn't please the Lord. As you go through the fiery flames, remember it is purifying you. The trials by fire don't feel good to the flesh but it is required for you to grow spiritually. Do not neglect your spirit man. Learn to obey your spirit over your flesh.
Hebrews 12:28-29 (TPT) Since we are receiving our rights to an unshakable kingdom we should be extremely thankful and offer God the purest worship that delights his heart as we lay down our lives in absolute surrender, filled with awe. For our God is a holy, devouring fire!
Holy, holy, holy - this is our God!
Malachi 3:2-4 (NLT) But who will be able to endure it when he comes? Who will be able to stand and face him when he appears? For he will be like a blazing fire that refines metal, or like a strong soap that bleaches clothes. He will sit like a refiner of silver, burning away the dross. He will purify the Levites, refining them like gold and silver, so that they may once again offer acceptable sacrifices to the Lord. Then once more the Lord will accept the offerings brought to him by the people of Judah and Jerusalem, as he did in the past.
A refiner of silver sits and burns off the dross, he knows when the silver is pure when he can see his image in the silver. This is exactly how pure we should desire to be before the Lord, that when people see us, they see the image of God!
Genesis 1:27 (NLT) So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
We were created in His image, people should see Jesus in us! What do others see in you? Wherever you are today, don't settle, aim to go higher!
