Bear One Another's Burdens
Do you realize the importance of prayer? Christians throw around the proverbial, “I’ll pray for you!” comment as if it’s enough to make the polite gesture, yet many forget the need a few minutes after hearing it. I know because there’s been so many times that I’ve been told that, but days later they are surprised to hear of what I’ve been going through, as if it’s the first time they heard it or they are shocked to hear I received the answer to my prayer, because they never really believed it would happen…sad but true!
Prayer isn’t designed to be a polite Christianese gesture, but a powerful tool to see lives and the world changed for the glory of God! It’s God’s conduit to release His will upon the earth! Don’t dismiss it when someone comes to your mind that you haven’t thought about in a long time…the Holy Spirit will place them on our hearts when there’s something that needs to be prayed through on their behalf…yeah, He loves His children that much!
Prayer must be taken seriously. It’s an incredible privilege to be a part of God’s divine plan for man. There was a day when prayer meetings would last throughout the night and spiritual families would fast, pray and believe until they saw the answer to the person’s needs. The church needs to become the church again! A people filled with the heart, love, and compassion of God. Brothers and sisters that stand and pray for each other on behalf of their lost loved ones, broken hearts, sick bodies, financial needs, anxiety, and all sorts of trials.
Let’s become the hands and feet of Jesus as we reveal His love by standing by those whose life’s battles have become too difficult to fight on their own. Understand the incredible power of prayer and use it to impact the world with the loving heart of God! Jesus paid for their victory on the cross and by His stripes their healing is complete. It’s up to us to share it with the world!
Christ said that greater things than what He did we would do. He never passed up an opportunity to bring healing and deliverance to all those in need. Begin to look around and see past your four walls. There’s a lost and broken world around you that needs to see the power of God manifested in their lives. Say yes and allow His Spirit to work wonders through your prayers!
John 14:12-14 (TPT) “I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name. And that is how the Son will show what the Father is really like and bring glory to him. Ask me anything in my name, and I will do it for you!”
Matthew 21:22 (KJV) And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
James 6:16-18 (TPT) Confess and acknowledge how you have offended one another and then pray for one another to be instantly healed, for tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer! Elijah was a man with human frailties, just like all of us, but he prayed and received supernatural answers. He actually shut the heavens over the land so there would be no rain for three and a half years! Then he prayed again and the skies opened up over the land so that the rain came again and produced the harvest.
Galatians 6:2 (NKJV) Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
