Finding Peace

Do you struggle to find peace in your life? We seem to always have so much going on in our daily lives. Between work, school, church, kids, grocery shopping, cooking, eating, homework, birthday parties, sports practices and games and so on. Or maybe that used to be your schedule then once COVID hit you were stuck at home for months on end and still struggled to find that peace even with an empty calendar.

We can easily feel as though we "need" to do everything when so much is going on. However, we weren't designed to do it all. We have people in our lives that God gives us that can help us with things. We are to carry each other's burdens and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us. When we try to do everything on our own, we will soon experience a burn-out. For those who don't have a busy schedule but are doing nothing, we we're created to just sit around either. We are all give 24 hours in a day - what are you doing with your time?

To remain healthy in our daily lives, we must put God first and pray through our day. There isn't a time requirement placed on prayer in order for you to attain a certain level of holiness. God wants to hear from you throughout your day and He wants to help you! He loves you more than you can ever imagine. He knows the number of hairs on your head, there is nothing He would not do to bless you.

This is not a ticket to "blab and grab" (blabbing out material items you desire and expecting God to give them). Jesus said "peace I leave with you." So why aren't we experiencing peace in our daily lives? Are you focused on Christ throughout your day or are you only focused on your checklist? Are you stopping and praying when you need direction? These simple things can completely transform your day. Waking up with a heart of thankfulness will start your day right. Praying and talking to God as you get ready and drive to work can set the tone for your day and give you a sense of purpose and a heart of gratefulness. Take time to reflect on the good things in your life and ask God how you can bless others each day. Even if it is something as simple as a smile or a 2-minute conversation with someone who is hurting and needs encouragement. Don't be afraid to do something for someone else, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you each day and you will find peace surrounding you.

John 14:27 (AMP) Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every challenge.]

Psalm 29:11 (AMP) The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.

Romans 14:19 (AMP) So then, let us pursue [with enthusiasm] the things which make for peace and the building up of one another [things which lead to spiritual growth].

Psalm 34:14 (NLT) Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
