Overcoming Weakness
Do you realize that the enemy knows exactly how you are wired, so he strategically plans scenarios that will push your buttons? There are so many intricacies to our personalities brought on by experiences, abuse and life in general.
We build defensive walls and protective mechanisms that we expect to shield us from pain and disappointment. Maybe not intentionally, but they are made obvious when triggered. I know I have plenty and it takes attacks and trials for them to be revealed. I think at times we rely way too much on our own strength to get us through or due to our insecurities we cower in fear…ready to give up because we just can't deal with it.
You have a Father who loves you. He knows all of the things about you that you wish were different, yet that doesn’t bother Him. He created you in such a way that you must become dependent on Him to be complete. He’s not impressed by your strengths or accomplishments. He appreciates the moments when you fall into His arms in humility, completely broken and admitting you can do nothing without Him! He desires to fight your battles for you and give you strength as you no longer put your trust in your own ability to change yourself or the circumstances but you depend on the power of His Spirit.
As you begin to take the focus you once placed on worrying and place it on Jesus by studying His Word, praying, worshiping and spending time in His presence, the stress of your failures and the possible outcome of the circumstances is removed and replaced with strength and faith. You do not have the ability to become all that He's called you to be. You're human and so are your limitations...BUT JESUS! Allow His presence to purge you of the weaknesses in your character and limited abilities to cope in this imperfect world.
The enemy may push your buttons, but he's not the one who designed your mechanisms. It's only as you surrender your life to Jesus and allow Him to do what only He can do with your broken pieces that you will be made whole!
We are all wired differently, but when your wires are plugged into the source of your strength the possibilities are limitless!
Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Ephesians 3:14-19 (NKJV) When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Exodus 14:14 (NLT) The Lord Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
Colossians 2:8-10 (NLT) Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
