Choices
Throughout our lives we are confronted with choices. Relationships, homes, schools, jobs, purchases, behaviors...etc.... the list goes on and on. I've often written about our comfort zones and not particularly liking change. As God begins to lead us in directions that don't always feel very comfortable, there's one thing I've learned, I can't trust my emotions.
I've often heard it said that if it's God's will, you'll know it by the peace you feel. I don't totally agree with that. To be honest with you, I'm never immediately at peace with being stretched and pulled out of my box of familiarity. Oh, I always come around, but, there's often some anxiety when it's decision time. You see...I don't want to make the necessary choices. As I said, I don't trust my emotions, my flesh will lead me astray. I always pray that God opens the doors that need to be opened and closes those that need to be closed. I want to be in the center of His will. That's my only anxiety. I don't want to miss it in any way. I've lived long enough to know that things that seem perfect, can soon become miserable if it's not a part of God's plan.
Stop trying to make things happen by manipulating situations. Trust Him with the outcome. Saturate it in prayer and by faith know that He is leading you. That's when the peace will come! When you know you are no longer in control and you give Him the reigns to your life. He shouldn't be our co-pilot... that's not the way He intended it to be. He is the pilot. There's a destination ahead and only He knows where He's taking us.
In the midst of the journey, take deep breaths, pray for His guidance and stay focused on Him. Your dreams may seem grand, but they are minuscule compared to God's plans for your life! Don't worry or fret, take one day at a time as you give Him praise on the road to your destination. He's got this!
Proverbs 3:5-6 (TPT) Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on Him to guide you, and He will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with Him in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go.
Proverbs 14:12 (KJV) There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Philippians 4:6-7 (TPT) Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell Him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.
