Rejection, Heartache & Pain
Have you ever gone through seasons of rejection, disappointment and pain? I'm sure you have, after all, you are human and living on this planet! Experiencing unpleasant circumstances is inevitable, but how we react is the most important part. It's easy to entertain a root of bitterness, especially when the culprit is someone we love and have sacrificed time, energy or even money to help... actually that's exactly the ones the enemy prefers to use. The key is realizing who is behind the negative behavior and what is the response he is trying to trigger in you?
The enemy's plan is to undermine the work God has done in your heart. He wants to make you feel unloved, unappreciated and rejected. Once those seeds take root, your primed for anger, bitterness and unforgivness. But that's okay... they deserve our wrath... right? I mean after all, we've been mistreated and maybe even misunderstood. This is the trap the enemy sets up to destroy us. It's not the pain that brings about our demise, but our actions. Hatred, bitterness and revenge destroys our lives... most of the time the other person has no idea of what's going on inside of you and chances are... they don't care. As they go on with their lives their venom in allowed to fester and ultimately destroy yours!
What's the solution? When the attacks come RUN TO JESUS! Allow His love and acceptance to bathe you of the filth that's trying to entangle your heart and mind. As you fall at His feet, tears flowing, sharing your heart and the pain you're feeling... really focused on Him (that's the hard part when the heartache is more than your flesh can bare) pressing through the pain until you see the light of His presence...it will remind you of what truly matters... it's not about what's going on, what others think or their opinions, but it's all about who you are in Christ and what YOU mean to HIM!
I'm not asking God to make me everything everyone needs or wants me to be. I just want to be the person He's called me to become and my goal is to please Him with every thought and action.
Let's stop being moved by the opinions of others. Let the driving force of your life be holiness, purity and pleasing Jesus.
We must be filled, with grace, mercy, forgiveness and love, but the truth is, we can't do that unless we are made complete in Him. Our security and identity must come from our relationship with our Lord. If we depend on anyone else to fulfill us and base our self esteem on what they think, we'll soon feel worthless.
You are priceless, greatly loved and wanted! Let the love of God be where you draw your strength and identity from. Then those that never had the power to give it to you, will no longer be able to take it away!
James 1:2-4 (TPT) My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things. And then as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.
2 Corinthians 7:11-12 (MSG) And now, isn’t it wonderful all the ways in which this distress has goaded you closer to God? You’re more alive, more concerned, more sensitive, more reverent, more human, more passionate, more responsible. Looked at from any angle, you’ve come out of this with purity of heart. And that is what I was hoping for in the first place when I wrote the letter. My primary concern was not for the one who did the wrong or even the one wronged, but for you—that you would realize and act upon the deep, deep ties between us before God. That’s what happened—and we felt just great.
Ephesians 4:32 (TLB) Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you because you belong to Christ.
1 Peter 2:9 (TPT) But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience His marvelous light, and now He claims you as His very own. He did this so that you would broadcast His glorious wonders throughout the world.
