Faith in the Face of Opposition
Psalm 112:6-8 (TPT) Their circumstances will never shake them and others will never forget their example. They will not live in fear or dread of what may come, for their hearts are firm, ever secure in their faith. Steady and strong, they will not be afraid, but will calmly face their every foe until they all go down in defeat.
Does it feel like the pressure is on and all hell is breaking out against you? Don't lose heart! This could be a sign of your upcoming victory! With each breakthrough there's usually a wall of opposition you hit right before your blessing.
As the enemy senses his impending doom, he turns up the fire and consequently your faith is stretched and tested. The enemy knows if he can get you to retreat in fear and discouragement, he's won the battle. What he means to use for your destruction, God will use for your growth and blessing, if you do not give up!
Think about those who were in the Bible. Moses was faced with the opposition of Pharaoh as he stood faithfully on God's promises. It even says that God hardened Pharoah's heart. Why would He do that? Well first of all, it was his own pride and unbelief that opened the door to the hardness, but if it was not for his adamant opposition, the power of God would have never been revealed in such amazingly grand ways. The plagues, the parting of the Red Sea and ultimately the destruction of their enemies brought about one of the greatest testimonies in history! Even as the children of Israel went to conquer Jericho, had it not been for the walls of opposition, they never would have experienced the power of God tearing them down, simply by marching and blowing trumpets. It was their obedience and faith against all odds that brought about this magnificent victory!
Let's not forget Daniel in the lion's den, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace, Joseph sold into slavery and Jesus on the cross. Each of them entered the most impossible situation of their lives, just before the most triumphant outcome!
So many people lose their faith just before they receive their miracle, therefore forfeiting the reward. Your faith must be based on God's Word and promises, not what the physical circumstances are revealing to you.
Know the Word and stand on it! Your victory may be right around the corner, this isn't the time to retreat in fear, but it's time to fight, worship and keep pressing forward until the promise is manifested in your life, no matter how long it takes!
Hebrews 11:1 (TPT) Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.
Hebrews 11:6 (TPT) And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God..For we come to God in faith knowing that He is real and that He rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking Him.
Genesis 50:20 (NKJV) But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV) And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
