Are You Rooted?

Colossians 2:6-7 (ESV) [ Alive in Christ ] Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

Being deeply rooted in your faith is imperative if you desire to live a life of victory. Being rooted in a Bible-based church is also great if you desire to be surrounded by other brothers and sisters in Christ who build you up, encourage you and work with you in serving God. Being rooted in your marriage and healthy relationships is important if you want to have a strong marriage and leave a great legacy for your children. We can be rooted in many things, even some bad.

We can be rooted in the wrong group of friends and feel like we have to stay with them because we don't know any other way of living. We can also be rooted in wrong thinking and poor decisions. If these are some of your roots, it's so important to uproot these ways so you can become properly rooted in Christ. I see many people who only come to church a few times a year and their lives are a complete mess. They say one thing at church and they say another thing on social media. They don't have a strong foundation in their faith and therefore, the enemy is able to work greatly in their lives. Then when all hell is breaking lose, they decide to run to church and cry their heart out to the leaders or anyone who will listen to their story, when really, they are in their situation because of their choices. They chose to ignore God and listen to the enemy or follow their own will. They chose to stay on social media and watch movies all day rather than take any time out for God or attend worship services. Evil is running rampant is our world today and if you want to live a life of victory, there can be NO compromise! NONE! AT ALL!

Stay rooted and grounded in your beliefs no matter what everyone else is saying or doing, keep your attention turned to God in all things and these bad relationships will end, these wrong ways of thinking will stop when you keep the promises of God at the forefront of your mind. There is nothing in this world worth losing your salvation over, let's be a generation of believer's that raise up the next generation (our children or grandchildren) to be deeply rooted in Christ so they may never waiver in their beliefs. They will know right from wrong because of the legacy we leave with them.

Proverbs 22:6 (MSG) Point your kids in the right direction— when they’re old they won’t be lost.
