O Death, Where is Your Sting?
Hebrews 2:14-15 (NLT) Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.
The power of the devil has been broken! When Jesus came and died and rose again, He broke the power of sin and death. Notice that Jesus didn't remove sin and death from the earth, rather He broke the power of sin and death! We have to choose to follow Christ or deny Him and reject His love. When we soak in the presence of God and renew our minds daily in the Truth of His Word, we are rejecting the offers of the enemy to live in shame, regret and condemnation. The devil wants you to live in self-hatred, fear, anger and bitterness. He is a liar and that is all he knows how to do.
On the other end, God is Truth and cannot lie. Everything spoken by God is an unchangeable truth, we have to learn to recognize the scriptures as Truth every day. Because each morning we wake up, the enemy is waiting to feed us more lies in hopes of us believing them and losing our confidence in Christ. In Christ we are victorious, free, joyful and living in peace. Without Christ, we live in a very different world. One of confusion, defeat and death. The good news is, in Christ, death has no sting. When we die on this earth we gain eternity in Heaven - that's a victory!
Death cannot hold you! The power of death has been broken! Jesus defeated the grave! Are you living for Christ or dying without Him? This is the most important question you can be asked: If you die today, where will you go? You can accept Christ as Lord and Savior and follow Him or refuse the one Who died for you and death will have a new meaning. But in Christ, death has no sting!
Titus 1:1-2 (TLB) I have been sent to bring faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know God’s truth—the kind of truth that changes lives—so that they can have eternal life, which God promised them before the world began—and he cannot lie.
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (NLT) "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
