Become Strong & Courageous
What currently has your undivided attention? With new numbers and advice coming out everyday, it's very easy to focus on the rapidly changing information. This is just a reminder to remain focused on Jesus in spite of what's currently going on in the world.
There's nothing wrong with watching the news and educating yourself through professional information. We must heed the call to separate ourselves from crowds, wash our hands frequently and gather enough food and essentials to get through the coming weeks. That's just wisdom.
My concern is that as time gathering information on the Corona virus is increased, time with God is decreased. This is the greatest opportunity to practice giving Him more of our time and attention. Many of you are currently not working and at the very least, you're not socializing or spending time shopping or enjoying any type of entertainment outside of your home. I hear many who are catching up on their programs and watching movies to fill their day. That's not a sin...but where does God fit into the equation?
I'm reminded of the story my son tells... he had a prosperous business that God blessed him with, soon it began taking up more of his time and attention. As he would feel the Spirit beckon him into the Secret Place and the Word, he would tell Him that he just didn't have the time. One day he ended up on the wrong side of the law and was arrested. As he sat in that jail cell, the Lord spoke to him. He said, "You're always telling me you don't have time for me... look around... what do you see?" Josh answered, "Nothing but 4 walls." The Lord said, "That's right... you have nothing but time now!"
Yes, this is a difficult time for our nation and world, but you do have an opportunity to use your time wisely. There's a world in turmoil, some even facing sickness and death... most are lost, without God. As Christians, it's our responsibility to pray. There's so much God wants to do in our planet and He manifests His power through the prayers of His people! Take this time to intercede for those affected by the virus. Pray for those who are either directly effected or tormented by fear. Then take time to build your faith through reading your Bible and build your relationship with Jesus by spending time in His presence and worshiping Him.
The enemy may have designed a virus to destroy you, but time spent with God will make you stronger than you ever were before! When you come out of isolation be unrecognizable! BECOME STRONG AND COURAGEOUS, FILLED WITH POWER, STRENGTH AND IMMOVABLE FAITH! Our God is in control and He will make a way in the midst of the wilderness!! No matter where you are in your Christian walk, there's always room for growth! SEEK HIM!
Joshua 1:9 (NLT) This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Romans 10:17(NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Isaiah 55:6-7 (KJV) Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
