Transformation
Juggling work family, relationships, friends and responsibilities can be quite daunting. Your schedule may feel so full that there's just not enough time to fit in prayer, worship, studying your Bible and fellowshipping with Jesus. At this point, time with Him may even be reduced to just one more thing to do.
The thing is... without prioritizing our time with Him, the rest suffers. I can tell you from experience that I cannot be a good wife without Jesus. Our nature is to be selfish and expect fulfillment out of our relationships. Don't get me wrong they are a blessing and a gift from God, but if our fulfillment isn't coming from Jesus we are placing a demand that no person can fulfill. Likewise every area of our lives becomes subpar without daily time seeking Him and drawing from His strength.
It's only as we are made complete in Him that we can allow His love to flow out of us and into the broken world around us. Without His strength, I too am weak and shattered. With an intimate relationship with Jesus we receive a realization of how loved we are and our identity is developed in who we are in Christ... not from the opinions of man. What others say or think is irrelevant... what becomes important is pleasing God and continually drawing closer to Him.
Don't just try to be a good person, but seek holiness, purity and a heart full of love.... that comes as more of your flesh is purged through God's Word and presence. Put Him first and watch as every area of your life is transformed.
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Romans 12:1-2 (NLT) And so, dear brothers and sisters,I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (NLT) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
