A Covenant God

Psalm 106:44-46 (MSG) Still, when God saw the trouble they were in and heard their cries for help, He remembered his Covenant with them, and, immense with love, took them by the hand. He poured out his mercy on them while their captors looked on, amazed.

Have you ever found yourself in trouble and someone graciously came to your rescue? What a wonderful feeling it is to know we have a God that will rescue us from our troubles when we cry out to Him. He remembers the covenant He has made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and His promises are true for us today. Our hearts should always desire to live holy before the Lord but even when we mess up and completely miss the mark, He is there to pull us up out of the path of destruction and guide us back to safety, securely in Him. God does not break His promises, He cannot lie. His word is Truth and we are responsible to know what the promises are. If you haven't grabbed ahold of His promises begin with the below scriptures to start your new journey growing closer to Him. Read them out loud and meditate on them in your quiet time. Ask Him to reveal the depths of each one. He is faithful!

Isaiah 40:31 (NLT) But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 54:10 (NLT) "For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.

James 4:6-8 (NLT) “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you.

1 John 1:9 (NLT) But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NLT) "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me."

Luke 1:72-75 (TPT) Now he has shown us the mercy promised to our ancestors, for he has remembered his holy covenant. He has rescued us from the power of our enemies! This fulfills the sacred oath he made with our father Abraham. Now we can boldly worship God with holy lives, living in purity as priests in his presence every day!
