Trusting God in the Midst of Uncertainty
Here's our current situation: as most of you know, our daughter, Tiffiny, and her husband, Jesse, moved to Florida a few months ago through a miraculously series of events. After going through a very trying season, God blessed them in an incredible way.
A few months ago we started feeling led to put our house on the market. Within a few weeks it was sold. I've got to tell you...I really didn't expect it. We just knew we felt like we needed to do it and we thought we'd test the waters. So, here we are, a few weeks from having to move out and we have absolutely no idea what the next step is. We are currently in Florida, in our daughter's community and we've just made an offer on a home...I can honestly say that whatever the outcome we'll be happy. We are unsure if a transfer will come through for my husband's job. If we get the house and can't move here right away, we may lease it out until we retire. Do we need to get an apartment in St. Louis in the mean time??? We have absolutely no idea... but... our God knows and we have faith that He will direct our path.
In the midst of so much uncertainty and a few weeks left before we have to move... we have complete peace. Serving God and following His lead is always an adventure!
Regardless of if we are living in a beautiful home in Florida or a tiny apartment in St. Louis, we can rejoice because things and circumstances do not identify us, nor are they our source of peace and fulfillment! Our contentment comes from the one we serve and lest you don't know who that is... His name is Jesus!! He paid the greatest price for our souls and a relationship with us!!! That's what excites and motivates me! Serving Him is my greatest joy!!!
Give up control of your destiny, draw closer to God and allow Him to illuminate your path. Don't force things to change, just trust Him and believe that His plan for your life is greater than anything you could possibly dream of or make happen! He's got it all under control! Your only responsibility is to worship Him, listen and obey!
Ephesians 3:20 (NLT) Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
Acts 17:26 (NLV) He made from one blood all nations who live on the earth. He set the times and places where they should live.
Romans 8:27-37 (MSG) He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good. God knew what He was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love Him along the same lines as the life of His Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity He restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in Him. After God made that decision of what His children should be like, He followed it up by calling people by name. After He called them by name, He set them on a solid basis with Himself. And then, after getting them established, He stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what He had begun. So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing Himself to the worst by sending His own Son, is there anything else He wouldn't gladly and freely do for us?
