Delight Yourself in Him

Psalm 37:4-5 (AMP) Delight yourself in the Lord; and he will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him also and He will do it.

There are times when God will call us to do something that in the natural we would never think to do. Our flesh desires to do our own personal agenda. Our spirit wants to follow through with the will of God for our lives. Our spirit and flesh can be at war over a decision, the important thing is that we yield to the desires of God over our own. Even when it feels like we would be foolish to follow what the Spirit says, it always works out greater than we can imagine. It’s always been the better choice, when our certainty about our personal decision seemed to be the best way, God’s ways are always better.

The desires of my heart are to please God. To be so in-tune with His will that every move I make is made with the assurance of knowing that it’s what God wants for me. There will be times when we question moving forward, only because our minds cannot grasp the fullness of God’s purpose. He created us in His image and has many amazing things planned for us all, my charge to you today is to completely trust in Him. Be fully committed to His calling in your life and remember that He is for you, not against you. We all know these scriptures but it never hurts to be reminded of the Father’s love for us. So, until we reach our final destination in eternity, stay strong in the Lord, delight yourself in Him and trust that He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart.

Ephesians 6:10 (AMP) In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might.
