A Great Mystery
Job 12:22 (NLT) He uncovers mysteries hidden in darkness; he brings light to the deepest gloom.
Daniel 2:47 (NLT) The king said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is the greatest of gods, the Lord over kings, a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this secret.”
Do you like a good mystery? I enjoy watching unsolved mystery cases or cold case file shows because I want to see the great mystery solved. It bothers me that many people are never at peace in life because they have not solved some mystery. From a wife whose husband was MIA at war, parents whom had a child kidnapped and never found, an adopted child who desperately wants to find their biological parents, a husband who lost his marriage, there is something missing in them that will not allow them to live in complete peace.
One thing we all have in common is we all have a God-shaped hole in our spirits. It can be decades before one comes to the knowledge of salvation through Jesus and at that moment they typically have an epiphany - that all the years of struggle, heartache and pain, the thing that was missing was never money, fame, drugs, alcohol, a spouse, or anything else that was used in an attempt to fill their void, it was Jesus! He will bring light to the deepest areas of our lives, will you allow Him in? Many do not want to face the pain of their past because the healing process can be such an emotional roller coaster but on the other side of that shaking is a sweet victory. It's one of absolute peace in life. Even knowing there are things that they cannot change in certain situations, they are content with life. The world will attempt to measure success and fulfillment through materialistic things that cannot satisfy our greater needs. The real mystery to an unbeliever, is how on earth are we so happy even when life has given us some horrific situations? When we are truly seeking after the Lord, there is no devil in hell that can stop what the Eternal One has in store for us. May you passionately pursue Jesus more and more each day, allowing Him to reveal more great mysteries about His love and who you are in Him.
Galatians 2:20 (NLT) My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
