Approaching the Throne of God

Prayer is a necessary part of our existence. He said if you have not, it's because you haven't asked for it. We are surrounded by so many hurting people that depend upon our prayers. We pray for our country, friends, children, those who are hurting, the lost and our own needs... my question to you today is...how do you enter the throne room of God? Do you go in demanding your rights? The Bible says we must come boldly into His presence, but that's due to the confidence we have in knowing we are loved and cherished. There's security in His promises and we know that by faith we can apprehend them... after all God's not a liar. Every Word He spoke is true and He desires to bless His children and manifest His power in the earth. The problem comes from the attitude in which some approach the throne. Boldness does not equate to arrogance. Though God promises you so much, He owes you nothing. He's already paid the greatest price for your soul and a relationship with you. Yes, pray the prayer of faith and expect the miraculous, but let your primary desire be to bless Him with the sacrifice of your life. So back to the question... how do you approach the throne of God? His Word says that we are to enter with praise and thanksgiving. Even as Jesus taught us to pray He said, "Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name." The Lord's prayer begins with worship!.

Don't enter His presence with your lists, but with worship, honor and praise. It's an incredible privilege to be granted an audience with the King of kings. Be mindful of who it is your worshiping and the sacrifice that was made to give you access into His presence. Yes, bring your list, we must pray and intercede in order to see His hand at work in our lives and the world around us, but that should never be the primary focus of our time with God. Enter His courts with exuberant praise!!! He's so worthy of it!!

James 4:2 (NKJV) You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.

Psalm 100 (NLT) Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness..Come before Him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are His. We are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.

Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV) After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
