He's Not Finished with You!
Do you ever feel like the spirituality you desire is unattainable? I'll be honest with you, I am nowhere near the depths of His Spirit I desire to abide in...
I read His Word and I hunger after righteousness, yet the amount of time spent with God never seems to be enough. The more I seek Him, the more I desire Him. There's work, family and responsibilities that still must be tended to and enjoyed, but there's a constant burning in my heart to be in His presence... It's my place of total peace...I yearn to stay there... nothing can compare to being in the arms of my Bridegroom. Even as I write this devotion. I'm weeping, His presence and love is overwhelming. I don't understand it... it's too wonderful!
I desire to see so much more of the glory of God manifested in and through me. Though I've touched the hem of His garment and experienced incredible manifestations of His Spirit in my life... it's not enough!! I'm so hungry and a bit frustrated in my spirit. I know I have yet to scratch the surface of His beauty power and grace. At times I put the pressure on myself to produce growth and results..
We shouldn't compare ourselves to anyone, but Jesus. Though that mark is set incredibly high, we must rely on His shed blood to wash away the imperfections and ignore the taunts of the enemy that point out our mistakes and make us feel hopeless. The enemy would love to have us believe that since we never quite reach the mark, we must be wasting our time. We can't expect mere flesh to produce spiritual fruit, that's the work of the Spirit. Our responsibility is to continually move forward with Christ. To live a life sensitive to His Spirit, willing to obey and quick to repent. Prioritizing our time for the study of the Word and seeking His face. There's times that doesn't take long and other times it's hours in His presence, as He pulls us deeper and deeper. He must have the freedom to move in our lives as He desires, free of distractions and diversions.
As we simply yield our lives completely to Him, we must trust that He is leading us into the paths of righteousness for His name sake. Let go of the control and hand it over to Him, He will take you places your flesh could have never gone. It's not about striving to get there, but it is about total surrender. He's brought you this far, He's not finished with you yet! He will complete the work He's started in you!
Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
Psalm 23:3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Philippians 3:12-16 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.
