Acceptable & Pleasing

Psalm 19:14 (AMP) Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable and pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my [firm, immovable] rock and my Redeemer.

Oh God, let our words be acceptable and pleasing. That’ll preach right there. How often do we speak idle words or words that tear down rather than build up? Let the meditation of our hearts be acceptable and pleasing... are we checking our motives before we do something? What’s our purpose behind our post? What’s the last thing we did that didn’t have a selfish desire behind it? Oh God, may we continue to grow in your Truths and continue to do more acceptable and pleasing deeds and speak more acceptable and pleasing words to those around us, friends and foes.

Jesus, You are our Rock - that cannot be shaken. You are immovable and steadfast. You have redeemed us from the grips of hell and You alone are holy. May we continue to follow Your ways and not our own. Father, teach us how to walk in obedience as we seek You for Who you are and not for what You can do. Allow us to be molded - hand crafted - as we aim to please our audience of One. May we choose to be more like you as the sunrises on each day for Your mercies are new every morning.

2 John 1:6 (AMP) And this is love: that we walk in accordance with His commandments and are guided continually by His precepts. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should [always] walk in love.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 (NLT) For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.

2 Corinthians 5:9 (NLT) So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.
