The Lost Art of Prayer
I just want to share my heart today. I've never been more desperate than I am right now. As many of you, I've spent much time seeking the presence of God and I feel like it's all coming to a glorious crescendo and we are on the precipice of a great move of God. His will doesn't happen by chance, He gives us a magnificent part in the process... it's called prayer. Yes, there's much He desires to do in these last days, but we must seek His heart and will, then pray it into existence. We take so much for granted and our lives are blessed in so many ways. Unfortunately, many of us have become accustomed to instant Christianity and paying the price for souls and to see the will of God come into existence has become almost unheard of.
God's heart is to see the precious people He created, loves and sacrificed for, come to repentance and the saving knowledge of His Son, Jesus Christ. It's time we quit just occupying a pew and begin to intercede with heart felt tears. There's so much He desires to do. Regardless of how you feel about our president and all of those in leadership, it is our mandate to pray for their protection and wisdom, that they may be used by God to make laws in defense of His Word and children.
We, the church, have dropped the ball in so many ways. Heartfelt intercession must return to the body of Christ. We can no longer be intimidated by the evil that surrounds us, but the light of Jesus must become evident in our lives and time with God in prayer, worship, intercession and His Word must become priority. Draw close enough to hear His heart then pray for what He desires to do in our world and the lives of others.
He's calling us back to selfless prayer and the fruit of it will be a revival that will transform our families, churches, workplace, neighborhoods and nations. Life is short, don't waste another moment, make it count for His name's sake!
1 Timothy 2:1-3 (NKJV) Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
Psalm 23:3 (NKJV) He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Psalm 31:3 (NKJV) For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me.
1 Timothy 2:1-7 (NKJV) Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
