Turn Back to Him
Amos 5:4-6 (VOICE) Turn back to Me and you will live. There is still time. But don't hang your hopes on Bethel, or travel to Gilgal or Beersheba or any other sanctuary expecting help, because Gilgal will surely be sent into exile, and the shrine at Bethel will come to nothing. Turn back to the Eternal One, and you will live. If you don't He will flame up like fire against the house of Joseph, burn it to the ground, and no one in Bethel will be able to put it out.
I love that Jesus says turn back to me and you will live. This would imply that there are those who were walking with Him but made the decision to turn away from Him and do their own thing yet He is asking them to come back, saying there is still time. In essence, no matter what you have done, it's never too late to run back into the arms of your Heavenly Father. He is always there offering grace and forgiveness to all of us.
We are warned not to go to places that are not worshiping Him but are worshiping idols because they will have nothing left at the end. Don't hang your hopes on anything other than Christ alone. He is the hope of glory. He is that promise of eternity in Heaven. Christ died for so much more than just our salvation, it's time we as the body of Christ accept all that He has given us and done for us. The death on the cross and His resurrection is our VICTORY! Death has been defeated, whom shall we fear?! God is for us and the name of Jesus is above every other name - sickness, evil, poverty, etc. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord - rather it be now or at Judgement - He will remain Savoir of the World. Turn back to Him and you will live. Praise God for second (and third and fourth) chances. What are you waiting for?!
Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV) Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Romans 8:31 (AMP) What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be [successful] against us?
