Discouragement

What is it that brings an instant emotional response and discouragement in your life? The enemy has your number and he knows exactly what he needs to do to hold your attention. Let's face it, when your focus is on his tactics, it's no longer on Jesus. It then moves into fear which energizes the negative effects, much like prayer and faith brings about a positive outcome.

Staying focused on Jesus and drawing from His strength, even in the midst difficult seasons and circumstances, requires both faith and discipline. The discipline comes into play when we force our attention from the trial and place it onto Jesus and the promises of His Word. In order to overcome discouragement and fear, we must study and know what He has to say about our particular situation, then believe that He would never lie. His promises must not be generalized, you need to realize that they are personal and written just for you.

So, what's holding your attention right now? It could be fear, disease, pain, financial, relational, physical or emotional. Whatever you're going through, the price has been paid for deliverance. Yes, there's lessons to learn and growth in the process, but there's never any waste with God. What the enemy sends for your destruction, God uses for your good, but you must trust Him with the outcome.

He's a good Father and He does desire the best for you, but all blessings in our lives are cultivated out of our intimate relationship with Jesus. Yes, He wants you blessed, but what He wants more is YOU! Find peace, fulfillment and a testimony of His saving grace as you begin to draw closer and depend completely on HIM! Man may fail you, but He never will! He can be trusted!
