Undeserved Grace
Titus 2:11-12 (AMP) For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives [lives with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age.
As we live in a world faced with ungodliness as the norm, we have the honor of learning to reject all that is not of Him through the study and knowledge of scripture. All because of an undeserved grace that has been given to us by the most forgiving Father - the One who took all of our sins for us and the One who lives in us. If anyone is to be deserving of our time, it would be Jesus. There will never be a person on this earth who will love and forgive and encourage and embrace - who will give us peace, heal our pain and bless our lives - no one will ever be able to fill the shoes of Christ. He will never let us down, never bring up our mistakes and never condemn us. Jesus will always do more than expected and His presence is overwhelming. Because of Him we choose to live upright and godly, we honor Him by doing what is right not what feels right at the moment.
Living by our faith and knowing God's promises is the only way to live that will guarantee our victory. Living by our feelings that change moment to moment is what will guarantee regret and feelings of shame. No matter how we have been living, we can choose to follow Christ daily and live with an eternal purpose offering grace to those who are around us just as Jesus offered us grace when we didn't deserve it. My charge to us all today is to live a life of forgiveness and offer grace just as freely as God gave it to us when we were deep in sin, lost and dying. We get to be the light that once brought saving grace to us.
